‘Extremely big for me’: Nicolas Kuhn says Celtic can help him ‘fulfil that one big dream’ next season

Celtic winger, Nicolas Kuhn, has shared how his move to Glasgow is going to help him fulfil one of his big football ambitions.

Since making his £3m move from Rapid Vienna, Kuhn has flitted in and out of the starting lineup despite his goalscoring debut against Aberdeen in the 1-1 draw up at Pittodrie.

In 18 appearances, Kuhn has hit the back of the net three times and created three goals but if he wants to achieve his next career ambition, then he will need to improve on that return massively.

Kuhn targets international recognition after fulfilling Celtic ‘dream’

The former Rapid Vienna winger clearly has natural talent and blistering pace. In my opinion, he just needs to build his confidence in the final third and that’s when we will see the best of him.

However, the Hoops winger has shared how he is set to complete a dream of his at Celtic which he hopes will lead to him one day being capped by Germany.

Kuhn said [Daily Record], “That’s extremely big for me. My statistics in the youth national teams over the years speak for themselves. I’ve also always loved wearing the German jersey.

“When we were fighting against relegation at Aue in Bundesliga 2 a few years ago, I said in an interview that my next goal was to play in the Champions League and return to the German team.

“Well, I hope to fulfil that one big dream next season with Celtic. The goal after that is clear to me…the German national team.”

Kuhn had been in and around the German youth international scene for a number of years as he made his name in football.

From U15 to U20 level, Kuhn has been capped a total of 32 times and scored 15 goals. His most successful spell was with the U17s where Kuhn was prolific with seven goals in 12 outings. [Transfermarkt]

However, when you look at the German national squad, Kuhn will be up against the likes of Kai Havertz, Toni Kroos and Niclas Fullkrug.

If Kuhn can get in the squad with those players then that can only be good news for Celtic as he will be performing at the very highest level for the club on both the domestic and European scene.
