Paul Walter Hauser joins Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere

Paul Walter Hauser is set to join the cast of the Bruce Springsteen biopic 'Deliver Me From Nowhere'.

The 'Richard Jewell' actor is in negotiations to play Springsteen's longtime guitar tech Mike Batlan in the movie that is being directed by Scott Cooper.

Jeremy Allen White is portraying The Boss in the film while 'Succession' star Jeremy Strong is playing the 'Born in the USA' rocker's manager Jon Landau.

The film is adapted from Warren Zarnes' 2023 book of the same name that tells the story of how Springsteen's 1982 album 'Nebraska' was made.

It was the musician's sixth studio album and is one of his most acclaimed records. The songs focused on blue-collar narratives and featured Springsteen performing all the instrumentals alone.

It was ranked at 150 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2020.

20th Century Studios chief David Greenbaum said after confirmation of the biopic earlier this year: "It is a once-in-a-lifetime honour to be collaborating with Bruce Springsteen, an inspiring and incomparable artist who represents so much to so many.

"The deep authenticity of his story is in great hands with my friend Scott Cooper whom I am thrilled to be collaborating with once again."

Paul is also due to star in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) blockbuster 'The Fantastic Four' but explained that he had reservations about joining the cast because of the failure of previous movie adaptations about the heroic ensemble.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the 37-year-old actor said: "Don't think that didn't weigh in as I was deciding whether or not take the job. That movie has not been fully nailed just yet.

"But I really do think the combination of the screenplay, and the department heads that are working on the film, and that classy cast of really exciting actors – some of them known for a long time, and some of them having a moment right now – (make me feel that) this movie is special, and it was something I wanted to be a part of."
