The NFL Network announced Tuesday that it plans to broadcast 21 preseason games this August during the heart of league training camps.
The preseason schedule will feature a ton of games featuring rookie quarterbacks. After all, quarterbacks were talk of the NFL Draft, with six of them going in the first dozen picks.
The first game in the schedule is Aug. 8, pitting the Panthers against the Patriots. Carolina features quarterback Bryce Young, last year’s No. 1 pick in the draft. And New England, with new head coach Jerod Mayo, selected Drake Maye with the third pick of April’s draft.
The second game on the schedule is one featuring the Texans versus the Steelers. That’s Aug. 9. Pittsburgh has all new quarterbacks, with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields vying for No. 1. CJ Stroud, last season’s NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, leads the Texans.
There’s a triple-header for Saturday, Aug. 10. You can see Caleb Williams, the top pick of this year’s draft, lead the Bears against the Bills. The NFL Network features three Bears games. No doubt, there is interest in watching Williams. You can also see him against the Bengals on Aug. 17, then versus the Chiefs on Aug. 22.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys-Rams and Broncos-Colts are a doubleheader for Aug. 11.
Cowboys are part of two biggest NFL preseason weekend slates
There are then NFL quadruple-headers for the following two weekends. The first one is Aug 17 with these games:
- 1 p.m. ET – Cincinnati Bengals vs. Chicago Bears
- 4 p.m. ET – Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs
- 7 p.m. ET – Buffalo Bills vs Pittsburgh Steelers
- 10 p.m. ET – Dallas Cowboys vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Then on Aug. 24, you can see this NFL quadruple-header:
- 1 p.m. ET – Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Detroit Lions
- 4 p.m. ET – Los Angeles Chargers vs. Dallas Cowboys
- 7:30 p.m. ET – New York Giants vs. New York Jets
- 10 p.m. ET – Cleveland Browns vs. Seattle Seahawks
Teams begin training camp in late July. The very first game of the preseason schedule is the Hall of Fame game on Aug. 1 between the Bears and the Texans. You can check out the rest of the NFL Network preseason schedule here.
Remember that the regular season kicks off Sept. 5 with the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs playing host to the Ravens.
