Homeless to lend a helping hand to Tidy Up Bishop’s Stortford team

Bishop’s Stortford’s haven for the homeless is helping keep the town spick and span.

Holy Trinity Night Shelter and Community Outreach in South Street has been given six litter-picking kits on long-term loan.

The equipment is courtesy of TUBS (Tidy Up Bishop’s Stortford) which regularly clears rubbish from the town’s streets and open spaces.

TUBS volunteers Ian Hudson and Duncan Forbes hand over equipment to David Perry

It was handed over after charity manager David Perry told the TUBs team that those helped by the shelter had some time on their hands and were eager to help out.

Ian Hudson, TUBS coordinator, said: “We are very well funded by the East Herts Lottery and are delighted to be able to supply this kit to Dave at the night shelter.

The group also loans equipment to other community organisations for one-off events. For more details, see www.tubs12.info.
