The North Atlantic Alliance has been assisting Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and this support needs to be maintained and continued, according to the statement by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Stoltenberg emphasized that at the NATO summit, he expects Alliance members to make decisions on further strengthening deterrence and defense against Russian aggression in Ukraine.

The Secretary General stated that NATO would continue coordinating training and assistance to Ukraine, along with assuming long-term financial commitments.

Stoltenberg reminded that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian aggression, NATO has been providing financial support to Ukraine.

He underscored that since the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, Alliance members have been providing Ukraine with military support totaling around 40 billion euros annually, stressing the need to sustain this level of support for as long as necessary.

He also emphasized that reliable and long-term support sends a clear signal to Russian President Vladimir Putin that he cannot wait us out.
