The SEC offices made more scheduling announcements on Tuesday including a few related to Georgia. The Bulldogs now know seven of their 12 kickoff times in the regular season while the remaining five have been designated as flex options for one of two options.
Georgia and UMass will get this going at 12:45 on SEC Network in late November. It’s UGA’s second to last home game of the season and comes after the completion of SEC play. Meanwhile, games against Auburn, Mississippi State, Texas, Ole Miss and Tennessee were all given the flex option meaning they’ll kickoff in the afternoon (3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. ET) or night (6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET) windows. Game times for those five will be announced no later than six days before.
Now with either an exact kickoff time or a flex designation on all 12 of Georgia’s games this season, UGA fans can sleep easy knowing only two games will kickoff before 2:00 p.m. ET. The season-opener on August 31st against ACC favorite Clemson comes your way from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta at noon and is joined by UMass. The home-opener against Tennessee Tech kicks off at 2:00 p.m. ET on SEC Network+, the only other game before 3:30 p.m. ET.
Other big scheduling news of the last few weeks has been Georgia’s in-state rivalry game moving to Black Friday. UGA and Georgia Tech will take the field at Sanford Stadium on November 29th at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC in the first year of the SEC on ABC and ESPN TV deal. The Bulldogs have five games scheduled to be on ABC (Clemson, Kentucky, Alabama, Florida, Georgia Tech) with more likely to be added in the flexed dates.

Georgia enters the 2024 season as the favorite according to oddsmakers in Las Vegas to bring home a third title in four seasons. Quarterback Carson Beck is a big part of the reason why, being listed by the same oddsmakers as the top candidate for the Heisman Trophy. He’ll have weapons to work with – both new and old – in his second year as the starter including Dominic Lovett, Rara Thomas, Dillon Bell, Oscar Delp, Colbie Young, Benjamin Yurosek, Trevor Etienne and others. Put all that behind an offensive line that returns four players with starting experience, and it’s easy to see why hopes are high for the Georgia offense.
Of course though, as long as Kirby Smart is the head coach, the Bulldog defense is going to be strong, and that remains the case in 2024. Safety Malaki Starks was an All-American last season while EDGE Mykel Williams and inside linebacker Smael Mondon are certainly capable of playing at the kind of elite level. CJ Allen and Raylen Wilson played valuable snaps as true freshmen and should take steps forward – as should sack leader Jalon Walker, now a junior – while the secondary must replace three NFL Draft picks including one each at cornerback, safety and STAR.
