Rangers could land Sima replacement for below £1m as report shares bargain price

Whoever said there is no value in the transfer market these days? Rangers are working to prove that there are still bargains out there for those willing to look for them.

Oscar Cortes, returning to Ibrox for a second spell from RC Lens, could be worth every penny of his £4 million obligation-to-buy fee if the winger can build on his sparkling early displays under Philippe Clement. Mohamed Diomande, for a similar fee, could be the lynchpin of Rangers‘ midfield in the post-Ryan Jack and John Lundstram era.

The sums required for Cortes and Diomande dwarf the one Rangers paid to bring in Jefte Vital to Ibrox. At just 20, and likened to a left-footed James Tavernier due to his creativity and his pin-point deliveries from the flank, Jefte already has the makings of a superb bit of business (Scottish Sun).

Clinton Nsiala, a defender so talented AC Milan snapped him up as a teenager, is also expected to join Rangers on a free transfer. Nsiala, a medical scheduled for later this week, bid farewell to the Serie A giants via his Instagram account on Monday.

“It’s time to say goodbye to this team,” Nsiala writes. “I’m (leaving) it after three years of personal and professional growth. A team that became family and took me as a child and now leaves me as a man. A team and a coach who believed in me until the end.

“Speaking of coaching, (Milan U19 boss) Ignazio Abate, if I am what I am today besides my feet and hard work, it’s all because of you who have always believed in me and continue to do so.

“Proud to wear the AC Milan shirt. Thank you for the support. Thank you to AC Milan. The journey continues.”

Should Yusuf Kabadayi follow Nsiala and Jefte to Glasgow, meanwhile, Rangers will have completed three highly exciting signings for a similar fee that Mick Beale splashed out for Sam Lammers back in 2023.

Rangers could land Yusuf Kabadayi for less than £1m

TEAMtalk report that the Bayern Munich youngster is available for under the £1 million mark.

It is believed that £850,000 may be enough to bring in a winger who would surely have joined Schalke on a permanent basis had the fallen giants of German football not found themselves in such a dire financial position.

Munich-born Kabadayi, a right footed left winger who likes to cut inside in a manner similar to that of Fabio Silva and Abdallah Sima, scored five goals in 26 games in the second-tier for Schalke in 2023/24.

Kabadayi has just one year left on his contract at the Allianz Arena, which goes some way to explaining why a deal could be done in the six-figure range.
