Rory Mcllroy CALLS OFF divorce from wife of 7 years in shocking U-turn: 'Our best future is together'

Rory McIlroy has called off plans to divorce his wife Erica Stoll less than a month after filing papers in a Florida court.

On Tuesday afternoon, at the Palm Beach County Courthouse, Thomas Sasser, the attorney representing the golf star, submitted a Notice of Voluntary Dismissal on his behalf.

Court officials responded by closing the case.

Sources say the bombshell divorce "came out of the blue", with McIlroy previously showing no sign there was anything happening behind the scenes.

He met Stoll two years previously at the Ryder Cup, while she was working as a PGA transport official at the time.

Court records show that a "notice of voluntary dismissal" was filed on Tuesday.

"There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate," the Northern-Irishman told the Guardian.

"Responding to each rumour is a fool's game.

"Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning."
