Report: Club official has just flown into London to try to sign 'outstanding' Tottenham player

One Tottenham Hotspur player’s future could be decided soon as an official from a foreign club has arrived in London to try and sign him.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are set to be active in this summer’s transfer window and they have already made their first move – Timo Werner has re-joined the club on another loan deal.

Although all eyes will be on incomings, a few Tottenham players are expected to be sold too in the coming weeks.

Here’s the latest on one of them.

Fenerbahce official arrives in London to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was once among the first names on the team sheet at Tottenham.

Jose Mourinho was the one who signed him back in 2020 and the Special One’s successor, Antonio Conte, was a big fan of the ‘outstanding‘ Dane as well.

Hojbjerg played regularly under both those managers, but everything changed once Postecoglou became the Tottenham boss.

The Australian decided early on that Hojbjerg was nowhere near the top of his pecking order. He preferred Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr ahead of him.

Hojbjerg came close to leaving in each of the last two transfer windows, but for one reason or another, no move materialised then.

Now, it is very likely that Hojbjerg will be sold because he will enter the final year of his Tottenham contract in July.

Karar reveal that Fenerbahce board member Acun Ilcali has flown into England to hold talks with Tottenham over a deal for Hojbjerg.

Mourinho, who is now at the helm of the Turkish club, wants to sign him this summer, and Ilcali is set to do everything he can to seal a deal.

Two other clubs want to sign Hojbjerg

Hojbjerg is expected to be a wanted man this summer.

The Dane is surplus to requirements at Tottenham, but he’s still only 28 and is more than capable of becoming a key player for another club.

It’s clear that Mourinho wants him at Fenerbahce but Diego Simeone is keen to sign him for Atletico Madrid too this summer.

The third club in the race to sign Hojbjerg is Napoli, where Conte is now at the helm. He wants Hojbjerg as well.

Interest from three different clubs is good news for Tottenham, who can now get a decent fee for Hojbejrg. It will be interesting to see where he will end up.
