Russian forces concentrate on the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. However, in Vovchansk, in the north of the Kharkiv region, the enemy is bogged down, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

The Commander-in-Chief of the General Staff noted that he had been working in military units on the hot fronts in eastern Ukraine for several days. According to Syrskyi, the enemy is concentrating efforts in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. The Russian forces have deployed the largest number of their assault units from the composition of eight strike brigades.

The Russian forces are attempting to seize the settlements of Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, and Kalynivka. This would enable them to advance towards Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

The enemy is also storming Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and pushing towards Siversk from two directions.

In the Kharkiv region, Russian forces are attempting to advance into the depths of Ukrainian units and create a so-called "security belt". Syrskyi emphasized that the enemy is bogged down in Vovchansk, despite the forces and means involved, which are constantly replenished by units from other areas.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Russian army is attacking in the areas of Staromaiorske and Robotyne, but without success. In the area of Krynky on the left bank of the Kherson region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold the bridgehead.

The Commander-in-Chief noted that thetasks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the moment are to hold the occupied lines and positions, prevent defense breakthroughs, maximize the destruction of enemy personnel and equipment. According to him, it is necessary to achieve superiority, reduce losses, and change defensive and offensive psychology.

"To achieve this, we are focusing on improving the quality of training with units undergoing combat coordination, during which issues such as combating enemy drones and protecting against them, maneuvering on the battlefield, using electronic warfare equipment, evacuating the wounded, and many other issues relevant in modern war are being worked out," added Syrskyi.

Escalation at the front

In recent months, Russian forces have intensified attacks on the frontline. Earlier, they managed to capture Avdiivka. After that, the enemy continues to put pressure in that direction.

The Russian forces are also trying to capture Chasiv Yar in the Bakhmut direction. This will open the way to the Kramatorsk agglomeration.

In addition, the Russian troops have been trying to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses in the north of Kharkiv region for a month. According to representatives of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukrainian troops control most of the town of Vovchansk in this direction.
