Julen Lopetegui wants West Ham to sign £25.2m-rated striker likened to Dominic Solanke - journalist

According to a recent report, Julen Lopetegui wants West Ham to sign a £25.2m-rated striker likened to Dominic Solanke.

Lopetegui has been appointed David Moyes’ successor at the London Stadium and is wasting no time in adding to his squad.

Luis Guilherme is expected to join in the coming days and he’s seemingly identified a number of targets up front, with Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri a serious candidate.

Now, it has just come to light, that West Ham are interested in signing a striker likened to Solanke.

West Ham interested in Jorgen Strand Larsen

According to Spanish journalist Victor Lopez, speaking to Ao Contraataque, via Moiceleste.com, West Ham United are interested in Celta Vigo striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The 24-year-old striker, who can operate off either flank, netted 13 times whilst laying on three assists for the LaLiga outfit.

Larsen is under contract until 2028 but the Spanish club are open to sanctioning his sale this summer for a fee of around £25.2m.

Lopetegui has ‘tested the signing’ but no official offer has been submitted, so perhaps he’s sounded out the viability of the deal.

Jorgen Strand Larsen would be a sensible signing

Interestingly, Larsen is of a similar profile statistically to Dominic Solanke, who has been a target of West Ham in the past.

So evidently, he fits in with the type of profile of striker West Ham have historically targetted over the last couple of years.

Having only turned 24 in February, the 14-cap Norway international has plenty of time to develop and grow into the role under Lopetegui’s stewardship.

Further, Larsen will be more than half the cost of Solanke, so he’d be a sensible addition.
