Villagers gathered to remember the Fallen of D-Day and to celebrate at Walpole St Andrew on Saturday, June 8.
Despite a rain shower at 11am a good crowd turned out to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
St Andrew’s Church bells were rung from 10am to 11am summoning people to the summer fair that was held at the same time.

The fair was held on the Swingfield and saw an array of stalls.
These included a Coconut Shy; Splat-a-rat; burgers and cakes; refreshments; plants and puzzles, and hair ‘scrunchies’ as well as a tombola for children's toys, and another with bottles and mystery prizes (Spam and Birds custard among them).
There were children’s books for sale and a special appearance of Paul Hemmings and friends who brought an army truck and a jeep beside which they set up a stall raising money for the Royal Anglians Benevolent Fund, and they had a Bren gun set up for people to pose with and have their photographs taken.

The local borough and county Councillor Julian Kirk came and supported the event, he also donated some money to help with the organisation which was greatly appreciated.
