A main road which has been closed for almost three months is set to reopen early.
Frindsbury Hill, in Strood, was shut to allow construction works for the entrance to the new Maritime Academy to be completed.
It was closed on March 11 from the Sans Pareil roundabout to Brickfield View and was due to reopen on June 21.
However, it is due to open ahead of schedule on Friday (June 14) with all traffic management measures which were in place removed.
This includes the reintroduction of the traffic restrictions on Canal Road which were temporarily lifted while these works took place.
This means motorists will no longer be able to use the bus route to access the A2 from the Medway City Estate with restrictions restarting on Saturday (June 15).
Bus services which were diverting will also be returning to normal.
Medway Council’s director of place, Adam Bryan, said: “I am really pleased these works are finishing ahead of schedule, and I would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding.
“We have been able to open the road earlier than planned as the contractors have worked very closely with us, so I would like to thank them as well.
“This work was essential to help the new Maritime Academy, which is expected to open in September and provide more than 1,000 secondary school places, open on time.”
The new pedestrian crossing on Frindsbury Hill will not be in operation yet as anti-skid surfacing still needs to be laid.
This work is scheduled to be completed over three nights, from Tuesday, July 2 to Friday, July 5 and will be carried out under temporary traffic lights between 8pm and 5am.
In the meantime, pedestrians can still use the existing crossing point.
