Country lane between Rabbits Road and Canada Farm Road in South Darenth targeted by fly-tippers

A large pile of rubbish has been dumped in a country lane in an area where villagers say it’s fast becoming a “huge problem”.

The mountain of black sacks, broken concrete and a wooden palette was left blocking a cut through between Rabbits Road and Canada Farm Road in South Darenth this week.

Resident Henry Mitchell said: “We have just received our regular monthly fly-tip. It is becoming a huge problem in the lanes around here, particularly this one.”

Last month an emergency seven-day road closure was put in place in a road providing access to Dean Bottom, in South Darenth after a mound of what appeared to be car parts was dumped and investigators feared it could be linked to “organised crime”.

Motorists were not able to access Dean Bottom near Dartford, while investigations were carried out.

In February, the main route in and out of neighbouring Horton Kirby was shut after fly-tippers dumped large amounts of roof tiles in the middle of School Lane.

Nearby Wilson Lane was also cut off for a week in the same month while an investigation and clearance work was carried out after huge mounds of earth were dumped on the country road.
