A Republican senatorial hopeful this week tried to cause a public uproar over an "out of control" problem in a major U.S. city — and inadvertently directed his rage at water fountains.

Royce White, a former basketball player with ties to conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, thought he was raging against Minneapolis crime Tuesday when he shared a map.

What he shared actually depicted where citizens could enjoy a free drink of water, according to journalist Christopher Ingraham.

"Oh dear," Ingraham commented. "This is the man the Minnesota Republican party has endorsed to represent the state in the U.S. Senate."

White later updated the tweet to include a Minneapolis map of shots fired, the number of which Ingraham noted has recently seen a 34 percent decrease from its three-year average. Ingraham quipped, "But crime is 'out of control' because reasons."

The senatorial hopeful did not make the change quickly enough to save himself from a proper social media roasting on X.

"That’s crazy Royce! All that crime in one area like that sure does make me thirsty… Any idea where I can find a drinking fountain nearby?" asked X user Dan Smith.

"Sorry, Royce. You tweeted my map of Minneapolis drinking fountains," commented @Nokomis_Dad. "There’s no escaping this."

"Good God," added Jon Cooper. "You really are an idiot."

White appeared not to take the mockery well, telling one commenter, "Shut your mouth you blue wave cuck."

This is not the first time White has been subjected to criticism after getting the party nod to challenge Democrat incumbent Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

The Star Tribune, Minnesota's largest daily newspaper, recently came out against White's campaign in a staff editorial that declares him "unfit" for office.

It references reports that White claimed women have become "too mouthy," railed against the "Jewish lobby," and is accused of spending campaign cash in a strip club, the latter point prompted on of White's followers to offer him some advice.

"Less time at the strip club," suggested Eco Gal, "and more time researching stats."
