George Conway says Donald Trump is getting a false boost in his polling numbers because many voters haven't seen much of him lately.

The 538 analytics website is currently showing Trump ahead in most battleground states, although their forecasting model predicts Biden has a 53-in-100 chance of winning the election

But conservative Trump nemesis Conway told the Meidas Touch podcast that the presumptive Republican nominee would likely sink as he returns to the campaign trail from his criminal trial.

"One of the advantages that Trump has had is we’ve seen less of him," Conway said. "One of the reasons I think the race seems closer than it will ultimately be is that people have forgotten about Trump.

"They’ve forgotten the reasons they didn’t like him. They’ve forgotten the reasons why his own White House staff in the spring of 2020 had to pull him out of those COVID briefings and end them because they were so bad and harmful to his image because he would say such insane things."

The former president was convicted two weeks ago on 34 felony counts and will be sentenced July 11. He raised eyebrows over the weekend by ranting about electric boats and shark attacks at a scorching-hot campaign rally in Las Vegas.

"The more you see of him, the more you say ‘what is wrong with him?’" Conway said. "He’s really off the rails and people need to see that."
