NFL scout predicts one AFC team will be all over Dak Prescott if he hits free agency

America’s Team is financially in a tough spot with its cap space with key players and is dragging its feet with Dak Prescott.

Jerry Jones seems to have his offseason agenda in priority order, with CeeDee Lamb topping the list.

The star wide receiver is heading into his fifth-year rookie option and has been a holdout during the OTAs and mandatory minicamp.

Rival Justin Jefferson has inked a blockbuster four-year $35 million APY deal to become the most expensive non-QB.

Dak Prescott slips to the bottom of the contract pile-up with Lamb and Parsons the top priority

Understandably, Lamb wants a piece of the pie and, more importantly, financial security.

Micah Parsons slots in underneath Lamb and has expressed that he is patient for the front office to turn their attention to him.

However, franchise signal-caller Dak Prescott’s future looks foggy with Jerry Jones delaying an extension.

The QB is consuming $55.4 million on the cap with his money backloaded to the final year of the 2021 four-year deal.

America’s Team is now on its summer break and the longer Prescott’s situation remains unresolved the likelihood of free agency grows.

Several teams with quarterback struggle will be fishing for Prescott in 2025

Fringe playoff teams will circle like sharks for the 2023 MVP runner-up if he entertains offers on the open market.

At the minimum, due to Jared Goff’s $53 million APY, Prescott, considering his leverage, would be eyeing up $55 million, with some suggesting he could become the first $60 million QB.

After eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, the 30-year-old has just two playoff wins to his name. Therefore, Jones is disinterested in pulling out the checkbook to accommodate his needs.

NFL expert suggests the Las Vegas Raiders will be all over Prescott in free agency

Former NFL Scout John Middlekauff highlighted how one team will be snapping their hand off to get their hands on Prescott.

“Jerry’s in this weird spot and it’s where Dak, it’s crazy to say, still has some leverage, ‘Okay you guys don’t want to play with me good luck. See ya, I’ll go to the Raiders because they will sign me but who are you going to play with,'” the NFL expert proclaimed.

Raiders have had their share of terrible quarterback play in several seasons

The Las Vegas Raiders have struggled with their quarterback play for several seasons and have brought in Gardner Minshew to tackle their problems.

In 2024, Aidan O’Connell looks set for his first full season as the starter after replacing the injured Jimmy Garoppolo in October 2023.

Nonetheless, if things quickly turn sour in Sin City Minshew may be called upon to steady the ship.

In 2025, if still without a solution at QB, the Raiders will have the cap space to tease Prescott away from Dallas as an unrestricted free agent.
