Russian plans for northern Ukraine thwarted: Key factor revealed

Russia's plans for northern Ukraine have failed (Russian media)

Plans of the Russian occupiers for northern Ukraine have been thwarted. Specifically, the permission from partners to strike Russian territory with Western weapons has changed the situation, citing the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, Andrii Kovalenko.

According to him, the Russian invaders in Vovchansk in the northern Kharkiv region are actively trying to entrench themselves in the border areas.

Kovalenko believes that the enemy's informational operation regarding the alleged capture of Ryzhivka in the Sumy region was a complete failure.

"They did not even try to continue pushing the narrative of an offensive in the Sumy region because their fake was exposed too quickly," he said.

Kovalenko added that the enemy's plans for the north were disrupted, but the Russians are pulling in new reserves due to significant losses. One of the key factors in this was the permission for Ukraine to strike Russian territory with Western weapons.

"Informationally, the enemy's Northern Operation has faced significant challenges for the Russians because they did not achieve their goals, suffered losses, and faced the destruction of many air defense systems in the Belgorod region," said the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation.

Backstory

Recently, information appeared online claiming that the Russians had captured the village of Ryzhivka in the Sumy region. The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, posted about the alleged capture of the village by the Akhmat regiment and other occupiers.

However, the information turned out to be fake. The General Staff refuted the information about the capture of the village by the occupation forces.

More details on the enemy's information operations and what is happening in the "grey zone" on the border can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.
