Report: Leeds could move to sign Tottenham midfielder who Ange Postecoglou says is ‘unbelievable’ in training

Leeds United could reportedly make a move to sign a Tottenham Hotspur midfielder who’s impressed Ange Postecoglou in training.

It’s expected to be a busy summer at Leeds United for Daniel Farke after missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

Plenty of current Leeds stars are attracting interest from top-flight clubs and it could lead to the Whites needing replacements.

Joe Rodon is a player who is on their radar after impressing during a loan spell at Elland Road last season.

The Tottenham defender is also attracting interest from Kieran McKenna at Ipswich Town and Leeds could face a battle to secure his signature.

Now, The Athletic has claimed that another Spurs player could emerge as a target for Leeds this summer.

Leeds could make Oliver Skipp move

Leeds may be forced to dip into the market to secure replacements this summer and should they need reinforcements in midfield, Oliver Skipp could emerge as a target.

The Athletic claims that Skipp would be of interest to the Whites should they need to bring in a new midfielder.

Skipp struggled for regular minutes under Ange Postecoglou last season as he managed just five Premier League starts.

The 23-year-old has been tipped for a possible summer exit as Postecoglou eyes reinforcements in midfield.

What Postecoglou has said about Skipp amid Leeds interest

Despite a lack of opportunities at Spurs last season, Skipp did rack up 21 appearances in the league, with 16 of them coming from the bench.

The Englishman also filled in at left-back on a couple of occasions towards the end of the season and fared well as an inverted full-back.

Postecoglou lauded Skipp back in October over his performances behind the scenes at Hotspur Way.

“I mentioned it to the lads this week, if you see our training our best trainers are guys like Ben Davies, Skippy, Emerson Royal – unbelievable training, and these guys aren’t playing,” the Tottenham boss said.

“So that sets the standard for the whole group. If you’re not training well, these guys are ready to step in. They’re disappointed they’re not playing, 100 per cent, as they should be.”

Skipp would represent an intriguing option for Leeds after the Spurs academy product excelled for Norwich City in the Championship back in 2020-21.

He’s failed to kick on at Spurs since but has been slightly unfortunate due to increased competition for a place in Postecoglou’s side.
