International ace shares what he’s been ‘learning’ from ‘top’ Arsenal star at Euro 2024

An international star has now shared what he’s been taking in from one Arsenal player ahead of Euro 2024.

This summer’s competition is poised to be one of the most entertaining continental tournaments in some time, with the likes of England, France and hosts Germany all early favourites to lift the European championship.

As for Arsenal, the Gunners will have a number of players represented at the tournament, with Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice expected to start for England whilst William Saliba could play a starring role in the defence for France.

Adam Wharton admits he’s trying to learn from Arsenal star Rice

Speaking to the press, England youngster Adam Wharton has admitted that he’s already trying to learn as much as possible from Rice, with the Crystal Palace midfielder a potential backup for the Arsenal superstar.

Wharton could be one of the breakout players at the Euros this summer if the midfielder is called upon by Gareth Southgate, and the 20-year-old is seemingly keen to learn everything from Rice and how he operates in the centre of the park.

Wharton said: “I’ve spoken to Declan, he’s a top player. You’ve seen that over the past few seasons, especially this season, the way that Arsenal play I think has really shown what he can produce. He’s a top guy off the pitch, so speaking to him and just learning off everyone, but especially him.

“We play in similar positions so it’s good to pick up on the little things and details, he’s really welcomed me into the squad. Even if it’s like body positioning, when the ball is in a certain position or just bits of communication, it just helps you when you’re on the pitch. When you play with him, the way he communicates as well makes it a lot easier.”

Rice could be England’s most important player this summer

Rice this season has take his game to new levels at Arsenal playing under Mikel Arteta, with the midfielder now easily one of the best in the world and a player who can make an impact this summer in Germany.

And for England, there’s a good chance that Rice can establish himself as the Three Lions’ most important player, even with Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Saka all in the squad.

Indeed, Rice fills a role that no other player in the England team can do, and if Southgate is to succeed at the Euros, the 25-year-old Arsenal man will be at the heart of everything for the home nation.
