King’s Lynn drivers turn out in good numbers for Brook’s Bilge Bonanza at Adrian Flux Arena

There was plenty of action at Lynn on Saturday when the much anticipated Brook’s Bilge Bonanza took place.

Celebrating a career of more than 30 years in national bangers of perennial entertainer Stu Brooks, this meeting excluded cars which dominate the modern scene.

It was great to see several top Lynn pilots back behind the wheel with stars of yesteryear Paul Bowen and Ady Groome both in action.

Daniel Bitson had a great night in the 1600cc bangers and is seen here battling with 974 Alistair Oxby. Picture Kimberley McPherson.

Both drivers were in action in the 1600cc banger class and both enjoyed success with Bowen getting an eighth-place finish in his heat.

It didn't take Groome long to get back into the groove with some good hits earning him an entertainer award and he also got a seventh-place finish in the opening race.

Kieran Bowman also picked up an entertainer award but the star of the show as far as entertainment was concerned went to Daniel Bitson, who put in an exceptional display and picked up an entertainer award in both of the races he competed in.

Laura Quadling won the 1600 Banger final

The 2L bangers saw Ashley Garrod come home in eighth place in the meeting final with Sam Coote following him over the line.

Brad Bartram took the chequered flag in the feature and Bowman also picked up an entertainer award in this class.

Darren Fendley was a heat winner in the micro bangers before Liverpool’s Tony Fidoe showed great form by taking a heat and final double.

Paul Lovick picked up an eighth-place finish in one of his heats before going on to roll over in the final whilst Lewis Godfrey and Tom Reynolds were both heavily in the middle of the action all night.

William Cartwright had a good night in the junior bangers with a second and eighth-place finish while Jack Garrod also had a top-three finish.

Morgan Bailey didn’t have the best of nights as he ended up on his roof whilst Daisy Reynolds was in the middle of the action all night.

Stock car and banger racing returns to Lynn on June 22 for a special night as they celebrate the 40-plus-year career of John Moat in the 1300 stock cars.

The action will also come from the 2L stock cars including the annual ladies' race with the 2L banger War of the Worlds team event completing the action.
