Britain extends sanctions against Russia

Following the United States, the United Kingdom has expanded its sanctions against the Russian Federation, citing the official UK government website.

A total of 50 new items were added to the sanctions list, including six ships from the so-called shadow fleet.

The sanctions target:

  • Russia's largest trading exchange by volume, the Moscow Exchange;
  • SPB Exchange;
  • National Clearing Center;
  • National Settlement Depository of Russia;
  • Ingosstrakh.

Specifically, the sanctions also affect Moscow Exchange Chairman Yuriy Denisov, businessman Ivan Tavrin, Insight founder Avet Mirakyan, Astra Group co-owner Denis Frolov, and S8 Capital Group owner Armen Sargsyan.

Besides Russia, the sanctions also target companies from China, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Israel, the Central African Republic, and the UAE.

Sanctions against Russia

Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by terrorists, Western partners have intensified their sanctions against the Russian Federation. For instance, the European Union has implemented 13 packages of sanctions against the adversary.

Yesterday, June 12, the United States imposed new sanctions on more than 300 Russian individuals and entities.

Meanwhile, the EU is working on its 14th package of sanctions, which may include 21 Russian companies. However, the list has not yet been published.
