Ukrainian Special Forces strike Russia's newest radar station for first time

Ukrainian soldiers of the Special Operations Forces have destroyed a new Russian communication station. The R-416GM entered service with the Russian army in 2018, according to Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Operators of the 3rd Regiment of the Special Forces, while working in one of the operational areas, identified a Russian digital radio relay station R-416GM," the statement says.

The Special Operations Forces inflicted fire on the Russian target with one of the latest developments that entered service with the Special Forces.

"As a result of accurate work, the R-416GM station was damaged. As a result, communication between the command post and the Russian army units was disrupted," the military adds.

The Russian army adopted this system in 2018. The mobile station is designed to improve the efficiency of radio relay units in the field.

R-416GM station was the first to be damaged by the Ukrainian military during the war.
