Jadon Sancho's future away from Man Utd has just taken another unexpected turn, he'll be gutted

Jadon Sancho is most likely on the move from Manchester United this summer, with a move back to Borussia Dortmund heavily rumoured.

The Manchester United man was signed from Dortmund for a whopping £73m back in 2021, but he never really reached the dizzying heights at Old Trafford he obtained with the Black and Yellow in the Bundesliga.

Alas, after a monumental fallout with Erik ten Hag, he was sent back to Dortmund on loan for the 23/24 season, where he refound a bit of form. This has now led to rumours they want to sign him back permanently.

However, a new development brings an unexpected twist in the tale of Sancho back to the Bundesliga side.

Edin Terzic officially leaves Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund officially parted ways with their manager, Edin Terzic, on Thursday. Despite reaching the Champions League final, he asked to have his contract terminated.

Terzic said upon departing: “Dear Borussians, even though it pains me greatly right now, I want to inform you that as of today, I will be leaving BVB. It was a tremendous honour to lead this great club to a DFB-Pokal victory and recently to a Champions League final.

“After our final in Wembley, I asked the management for a conversation because, after ten years at BVB, including five years in the coaching team and two and a half years as head coach, I feel that the upcoming restart should be led by a new person”.

Jadon Sancho future at Borussia Dortmund now up in the air

Part of the reason Sancho headed back to the Bundesliga with Dortmund in the first place was down to the fact Terzic was in charge. He spent 10 years at BVB, including five on the coaching staff and two and a half as head coach.

He was there for Sancho’s breakthrough, and resurgence – and was a big believer in the English winger’s abilities. Now, with Dortmund heading into a new era, Sancho may be considered a waste of money, or in fact not the right profile for the club.

That’s if that decision hadn’t been made already. The Daily Mail reported that Dortmund are unlikely to pay the £40m asking price for Sancho, with Juventus now the most likely candidate for his signature.

Terzic leaving may be the final nail in the coffin. Sancho, although Dortmund would probably be his favoured destination, may have to look elsewhere.
