Aston Villa must act fast to secure the sensational return of ‘incredible’ £20 million bargain

Aston Villa must secure the services of a former hero this summer who is available for as little as £20 million.

Bargains in the summer window are hard to come by. Every club is desperate to secure the best value for money signing that could transfer their squad.

Unai Emery and Monchi have secured plenty over the past year, with the capture of Morgan Rogers helping them to secure Champions League football.

This summer, finding these bargains could be more important than ever with PSR being a major concern.

However, it has now been reported that a former hero of the club could be available for a cut price.

Since his highly successful loan spell at Villa Park, Abraham has been on quite the adventure.

The striker returned to Stamford Bridge where he became a regular and won the Champions League. However, searching to become the main number nine, he moved to Italian side Roma.

In his first season, Abraham shone. The 26-year-old netted 27 times in all competition which led the club to the Europa Conference League title.

Yet, the following two years have been less fruitful with him only scoring combined 10 goals and having spent the last 10 months out with a knee injury.

As a result, it has now been reported by The Telegraph that Roma has made him available for £20 million.

It mentioned that Villa are aware of his availability but could face competition from Spurs and West Ham who are also searching for reinforcements up top.

Villa are clearly in need of a striker. Besides Ollie Watkins, there is no other central threat the Birmingham outfit possesses.

It is looking increasingly likely that Jhon Duran will depart this window with Chelsea circling. Therefore, the club must pounce on Abraham before it is too late.

The England international knows Villa and had a highly successful year at the club that led to their promotion back to the Premier League.

By signing Abraham it would no doubt add more competition for Watkins as well as a player who has had regular experience and success in European competitions.

While he may have just come back from a long-term injury, for the small price of £20 million, the striker is worth the risk.

PSR is clearly a concerning issue at the moment at Villa. Therefore, being smart in the current window is a must.

This is the type of signing Monchi and Emery need to be looking at that would help improve Villa’s first team while also costing very little.
