Edo: Police parade 15 suspects for alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism others

Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested 15 suspects for alleged involvement in various criminal activities in the state.

DAILY POST reports that the State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye disclosed this on Thursday while parading the suspects in Benin City.

Adegboye said the suspects were arrested for alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, conspiracy and murder.

He said the command also recovered assorted arms, ammunition and other exhibits from the suspects.

He said the suspects were arrested in different locations in Uromi, Awo- Uromi, Amedokhian- Ugboha road, Ugboha bush and Egbele, Ubiane quarters in Aviele in Esan North East, Etsako West Local Government Areas and in Benin metropolis respectively

The commissioner said his officers arrested the suspects during a stop and search operation, noting that credible intelligence, bush combing, investigation and technical intelligence were used in the operations.

He said the suspected criminals were arrested by operatives of the Uromi Division, anti-kidnapping and cybercrime unit and the Edo North Annex office of the unit in collaboration with vigilantes groups and hunters.

Adegboye said eight of the suspects arrested for kidnapping in Uromi are ex-convicts.
