Arsenal star told he'll 'forever' be 'legend' in his country for what he did before Euro 2024

Several Arsenal stars are set to feature for their National Teams at Euro 2024, but whilst some have points to prove, one will remain in favour no matter what happens.

There is uncertainty over several Arsenal left-backs ahead of next season, and both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior will be fighting for their futures at the European Championships.

Both players are set for roles away from the position they have usually played in at Arsenal this season, with Zinchenko eyed up for a midfield role and Kiwior set to play in his natural position at left centre-back.

Kiwior is set to play an important role for Poland, but no matter how his campaign goes, he will be a popular figure amongst his fans because of one key moment in his International career.

Arsenal star Jakub Kiwior is already popular amongst Poland fans

Speaking to Arsenal club media, Polish football expert Kaz Mochlinski explained that Kiwior’s winning goal against rivals Germany in a friendly a year ago, will have made him immortal in Polish football folklore.

“The progress he’s made since joining Arsenal is really clear. He scored his first goal for Poland last year and will be a legend in the international team forever because it was the only goal of the game against Germany,” he explained.

“Polish victories against Germany you can count on the fingers of one hand without getting to your thumb. They’re very precious and memorable. To score your debut goal for your country as a winning goal against Germany, if he did nothing else he’d be remembered for that.”

Kiwior has been linked with a return to Serie A, with Juventus and AC Milan among the clubs interested in him, and his Arsenal future is up in the air.

The 24-year-old has not featured much since a disastrous display against Bayern Munich in the Champions League ended a run of games at left-back, and it will be interesting to see him play in his more natural position for Poland.

If he performs well, he could either send a message to Mikel Arteta, that he can still go up a level at Arsenal, or he can put himself in the shop window well for a potential move away.
