Wanted to make sure we had a sense of what the 2024-25 schedule is here on Inside Texas. None of this is really breaking but wanted to make sure it was all gathered in one spot.

- 11/4 – Hall of Fame Series: Ohio State – Las Vegas, Nevada
- 11/21 – Legends Classic: Syracuse/St. Joseph’s/Texas Tech – Brooklyn, N.Y.
- 11/22 – Legends Classic: Syracuse/St. Joseph’s/Texas Tech – Brooklyn, N.Y.
- 12/4 – SEC-ACC Challenge: NC State – Raleigh, N.C.
- 12/8 – UConn – Austin, Texas
For what it’s worth, Texas says UCONN isn’t official yet, but Rodney Terry spoke about it at SEC Spring Meetings and had this to say: “We got a chance to play this last season, and I’ve known Dan (Hurley) for a long time. I knew Dan when he was a high school coach and I recruited some of his players when he was at St. Benedict’s there. Tristan Thompson played for him… Myck Kabongo also played for Dan at St. Benedict’s. Dan has been a great coach for a long time. He did a great job at the high school level and ran his practices like college practices. Not surprised at what he’s been able to do at this level.
“When you talk about trying to compete and being the best every year at what we do, you have to try to play the best. UConn has been the best these past two years in college basketball. Getting the chance to start a series with those guys and that storied program, for us that was an opportunity we welcomed, we’re excited about, and really tried to make happen. Chris Ogden did a great job of digging in there and getting some of the nuts and bolts of that thing done, one that Dan and I feel good about in terms of non-conference situation.
“It’s a great home-and-home. We’ve always had great home-and-home series while I’ve been at Texas. Last year, we weren’t really able to have a really good marquee home game, but we’ve always had really good marquee home games and this one will be at the top of the list.”

What does last year’s schedule tell us?
Last year, Texas played 18 Big 12 games and 13 non-conference games. Those 13 non-conference games included four Power Conference battles against UConn, Louisville, Marquette, and LSU plus low- to mid-major teams Incarnate Word, Delaware State, Rice, Wyoming, Texas State, Houston Christian, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, UNC Greensboro, and UT-Arlington.

With five Power Conference games (potentially four if Texas is matched up with St. Joes in the Legends Classic), expect the remainder of the schedule to include games that will allow for the Longhorns and their newcomers to jell as opposed to contests that will pose as significant challenges.
