STATE COLLEGE — Penn State football has welcomed its penultimate Class of 2024 signee to campus. Receiver Tyseer Denmark enrolled this week and was at the program’s annual Lift for Life event on Thursday. Blue-White Illustrated first reported Denmark’s pending arrival late last week. His Philadelphia Imhotep Charter classmate, defensive back Kenney Woseley, will be the final signee from the last recruiting cycle to arrive once he does so later this month.
There is hope for Denmark to make an immediate impact on the program’s oft-discussed receiver room this fall. It will be difficult seeing that he just arrived on campus and did not have the benefit of learning first-year offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki’s offense on the field during spring practice. But, there has not been a lack of communication, and thus, the learning process has continued.
“We’ve been talking a lot,” Denmark told BWI. “We’ve been going over formations and doing different Zoom meetings to touch on the different things I need to be ready. I’m just getting ready for all of that stuff and they’ve also been helping me prepare my mind for what’s next.”
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound prospect brings plenty of talent to town. He is fresh off Big 33 game MVP honors after catching three touchdowns in Team PA’s big win over Team Maryland. And, he and Woseley have been fine-tuning their skills against each other while waiting to get into town.
“Going against Kenny every day was great. He helped me get better with my routes because Kenny is so patient. He’s a real technical DB, fundamentally sound,” Denmark said. “So, you got to really work to get open against him and he helped me a lot when it comes to perfecting different routes. Just going at it against a guy like Kenny every day, it’ll make you better for sure.”
