Russia reports massive drone attacks in 5 regions and occupied Crimea

Last night, Russian air defense forces and means were deployed in several regions of Russia, as well as in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Crimea, due to an alleged large-scale attack using drones, the Russian Defense Ministry says.

The Russian Defense Ministry claims that on the night of June 14, an attempt was prevented to launch an attack using aircraft-type UAVs against targets in the Russian Federation and occupied Crimea.

Traditionally, the Russian side accuses Ukraine of such drone attacks.

At the same time, the Russian ministry claims that as many as 87 drones were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems, and the lion's share of them were in Rostov region.

Thus, according to the report of the Russian Defense Ministry, the drones were allegedly eliminated during the repulsion of an air attack:

  • 70 drones in Rostov region,
  • 2 drones in Belgorod region,
  • 2 drones in Volgograd region,
  • 6 drones in Voronezh region,
  • 6 drones in the Kursk region,
  • 1 drone over the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Drone attack on Russia on June 14

Drone attacks were reported that night, in particular, in Kursk, Voronezh, and Rostov regions, where explosions and strikes were heard.

There were reports of nighttime strikes in the city of Morozovsk, Rostov region, where a fire broke out during a UAV attack and air defense operations, and some houses lost power. By the way, there is a military airfield in this city.

Later, local governor Vasily Golubev said that the UAV attack had disrupted the power supply in the Morozovsky district and that"several settlements were included in the blackout zone.

In addition, in the Voronezh region, drones attacked an oil depot in the Liski district and seriously damaged fuel tanks. The local governor claims that there were no casualties, and the cleanup is underway, as well as information about the damage to the facility.

There were also reports of a drone attack on Kursk, where explosions were heard.
