WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Our annual State Of The U series continues. Today we continue to break down the recruiting classes that make up this year’s team, and that means we’re taking a deep dive into the Class of 2023. So be sure to check that out.
There’s also our continuing analysis of the top 50 roster players, giving insight onto this team’s talent level and depth. Check out our closer look at No. 16, Daryl Porter, Jr.
In recruiting?
Don’t miss our update off Orlando (Fla.) Jones top-35 receiver Vernell Brown III’s OV to Miami that wrapped up Thursday. He has played his cards close to the vest so far in his recruitment. But he didn’t hide how he feels about Miami after his official visit this week.
It’s also a big official visit weekend upcoming, and this morning we have updates going into it with Port Charlotte (Fla.) four-star defensive tackle Myron Charles, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star cornerback Chris Ewald Jr. and Sanford (Fla.) Seminole four-star interior offensive lineman Max Buchanan. So don’t miss those.
There’s also our storylines to watch heading into the OVs, so read that as well.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

One of the best recruiting jobs by this staff was getting Restrepo back. Rock solid. I am sure that helped get Ward relaxed as well.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“(The visit) was monumental. Obviously this is my second OV, so I don’t want to say they’re the leader or anything like that, but this was a really good visit and it really helped Miami. … They were just saying how I can take this program to the next level. One thing they did different from anyone else so far is they showed me a detailed plan they had for me specifically. Just showing me the steps that I’ll take from my freshman year to my junior year if it’s a three-and-out deal and for whatever reason if it took four years what that would look like. And even some special teams stuff.”
