Stansted Airport police dog Buddy has bad news for England and Scotland fans as UEFA Euro 2024 begins

Stansted Airport police dog Buddy has bad news for England and Scotland fans as UEFA Euro 2024 kicks off in Germany tonight (Friday, June 14).

The springer spaniel who patrols the passenger terminal with his handler from the Essex force, has used tennis balls to select the six winners of the group stage.

Stansted’s social media manager Ellie Miller said: “I’m afraid it’s bad news for England and Scotland fans, as Police Dog Buddy believes Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Poland, Ukraine and the Czech Republic will win their groups and advance to the next round.

“Hopefully England and Scotland can secure runner-up spots if Buddy’s predictions come true.

“London Stansted is certainly buzzing in the run-up to the tournament. In the last few days, we’ve seen lots of England and Scotland fans pass through the airport, which only adds to the excitement and anticipation about the upcoming games.”

The first game kicks off tonight between the host country and Scotland at Munich’s Allianz Area and finishes with the final on July 14 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
