Plan for four-storey block of flats on car park in Tunbridge Wells Conservation Area

A care home company is seeking permission to build a four-storey block of flats on a car park.

Hallmark Care Homes Developments Ltd wants to build between Bredbury House and number 78 Mount Ephriam, in Tunbridge Wells.

The company owns the Chamberlain Court Care Home to the rear of the site.

Plans show seven flats; six of two bedrooms and one of three.

There would be eight parking spaces, four with EV charging points, and a communal bike store for 15 cycles.

Vehicular access would be as existing, from a point further along Mount Ephriam and running behind Bredbury House.

However, the company has plans to restore the Portland stone balustrade to the front of the property and to re-open the pedestrian gate there.

The site falls within the Tunbridge Wells Conservation Area.

The homes will be heated with individual exhaust air heat pumps.

The company previously obtained planning permission to re-develop the site in April 2019, but never followed through with it.
