Fire at derelict Nore pub on St George’s Avenue in Sheerness

Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a derelict pub.

Three fire engines are attending the inferno at the former Nore boozer in St George’s Avenue in Sheerness.

Police were called at 4.09pm on today (14 June) and officers are currently at the scene.

People living or working nearby are being advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke coming from the building.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Three fire engines are currently in attendance and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, are using main jets to extinguish the flames.

“Please share this information with any loved ones in the affected area, who might not have access to the internet.”
