'Praying for you': Proud Brits rally behind Kate as they laud Princess of Wales's return

Proud Brits have rallied behind Princess Kate as they laud the Princess of Wales's return on Saturday at Trooping the Colour.

Kensington Palace has confirmed Kate, 42, will attend the monarch's birthday parade in a carriage alongside Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

This will be the Princess of Wales's first public sighting in 2024, as Kate has not performed any official engagements this year.

The mother-of-three confirmed in March that she was undergoing cancer treatment, after having major abdominal surgery in January.

In a written message to the public, Kate said: "I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.

"On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.

"My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.

"I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet."

After the exciting announcement that Kate would attend Trooping the Colour, royal fans began an outpouring of love and support for the Princess of Wales.

One said: "I hope you will join me in cancer survivorship. I can greatly relate to having good days and bad days. Chemotherapy is no joke."

Another wrote: "Sending you lots of love and support Princess Catherine. Thank you for being so open and sharing your chemotherapy journey with us. Your words are so beautiful but sad."

Alongside Kate's statement, Kensington Palace issued a new photograph of the 42-year-old that was taken in Windsor earlier this week.

A royal watcher posted: "Omg this is awesome. Can't wait to see you. Love you Kate."
