Elite wide receiver Quincy Porter commits to Ohio State

COLUMBUS — Ohio State has expanded its wide receiver class.

Four-star Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic wide receiver Quincy Porter has committed to the Buckeyes. The No. 31 overall prospect and No. 5 wide receiver committed to Ohio State over Michigan, Penn State, Rutgers and others.

Porter was scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan this weekend, but canceled the trip.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver gave his silent pledge to Ohio State before leaving campus last weekend. Wide receivers coach Brian Hartline made Porter a priority throughout the recruiting cycle and Porter was truthfully the only big-bodied wide receiver Ohio State was after.

He will follow suit with guys like Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham as his skill set is similar to both of the 2024 wideouts. Rankings aren’t the be-all-end-all, but Porter has a chance to end his high school career as a five-star prospect.

Offensively, the Buckeyes are led by a trio of in-state pledges. Four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair, four-star Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer offensive tackle Carter Lowe and four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Villa Angela St. Joseph running back Bo Jackson are all with the Buckeyes.

Four-star Washington (Okla) tight end Nate Roberts and four-star Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic wide receiver De’zie Jones round out the offense.

There are a pair of five-star cornerbacks in the Ohio State class with Na’eem Offord and Devin Sanchez. Four-star Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic safety DeShawn Stewart, four-star Olney (Md) Good Counsel safety Faheem Delane and three-star Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius safety Cody Haddad are also in the class.

Four-star Philadelphia (Pa) Imhotep Institute EDGE Zahir Mathis and four-star Bradenton (Fla) IMG Academy EDGE London Merritt, and four-star Port St. Lucie (Fla) Vero Beach linebacker Tarvos Alford and three-star Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban linebacker Eli Lee round out the defensive class.
