LSU has a commitment from 5-star+ quarterback prospect Bryce Underwood, who remains the No. 1 overall prospect on the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2025 class.
Underwood has maintained he’s locked in on the Tigers, which has allowed LSU offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan to turn the focus to the 2026 cycle.
“I had just seen the growth in Jayden Daniels from when he got there, and how he became what he is now,” Underwood told The Bengal Tiger staff. “The development portion of it was the thing that influenced me and actually pushed it over the hump of me getting there and committing there.”
Over the past week, Sloan has hosted three of the Top 10 quarterbacks in the 2026 class – including the No. 1 and No. 2 quarterback prospects.
First, LSU got another visit from Florida quarterback Brady Hart, a rising junior at Cocoa who already holds an offer from the Tigers as the No. 10 quarterback prospect on the On3 Rankings.
Then came a visit from Dia Bell, who checks in as the No. 2 quarterback prospect on On3. Bell, who spent multiple days at LSU, worked out for the staff at the program’s Elite Camp on Thursday.
Now, Sloan has 5-star quarterback Faizon Brandon on campus for a weekend visit. Brandon heads into the summer months ranked by On3 as the No. 1 quarterback prospect for the 2026 cycle.
Tennessee holds the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) lead for Brandon, and he took another trip to Knoxville earlier this month. Now, the 5-star quarterback is back in Baton Rouge, and he’s grown close to Sloan between campus visits and time spent by LSU’s staff on the road.
“I’ve built a pretty good relationship with him. Seeing what he does with quarterbacks is one of the reasons why LSU is on my radar,” Brandon told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I like how he develops quarterbacks. I like how he works with the quarterbacks.”
With visits still to come in June at Alabama, Penn State and, potentially, both North Carolina State and North Carolina, the Greensboro (N.C) rising junior is keeping his options open before narrowing his focus.
“I think I want to release a top six, try to cut things down and start building better relationships with schools by the end of the summer,” Brandon said.
Beyond quarterback development, the 5-star prospect said he’s searching for a college that “feels like it’s family.”
“It will be about the best relationships that I have, who I feel comfortable talking to and knowing where I can be developed,” Brandon told On3. “Those are the main things I am looking for.”
