Fox News's Kayleigh McEnany floated a bizarre accusation Friday night against President Joe Biden: that he head-butted the Pope during a summit of the G7 leaders.
This comes as various right-wing outlets have falsely claimed Biden wandered off from the other leaders in a daze, when in fact he was watching a paratrooper demonstration.
"When Pope Francis visited the summit today, Biden greeted him in a rather awkward way, with a forehead-to-forehead embrace," said McEnany, who previously served as former President Donald Trump’s press secretary in the White House. "I mean, look at that! Is he head-butting the Pope? It kind of looks like it. He left the Pope looking a bit surprised."

The puzzling suggestion befuddled many on social media, who didn't know quite what to make of McEnany's remarks.
"Look how angry and surprised he is," wrote Acyn Torabi, the Meidas Touch editor who originally flagged and posted the Fox News clip. He showed an image of Pope Francis a second later in the interaction, beaming at the president.
"The narratives are soo far beyond ridiculous at this point… yet there is a very susceptible audience that believes this drivel," wrote @ImKnotTheOne. "Also, the people that eat this up and perceive it as fact, is why they literally put 'do not eat' on silica gel packets."
"No he did not," wrote @VABornTexasBred. "Joe and The Pope are respectful Catholic friends. They message and speak frequently. The Pope knows Joes faithfulness. He knows his families sorrow. He knows about Hunters conviction. How many people in this world share this intimacy with The Pope?"
"Just another example of the MAGA media misrepresenting what happened," wrote @1mayanh. "Watch the video clip. Their interaction is very different than shown in this picture."
"MAGA despises Biden for being such an openly loving, compassionate, and empathetic person," wrote @denofcinema5. "It really sticks in thier craw."
