Connor Roberts and Glen Kamara react as 'excellent' Leeds United player shows off early off-season work

One of Leeds United’s potentially most exciting players for next season has been showing off some of his early off-season work on Instagram.

Leeds are now three weeks on from their play-off final defeat against Southampton and so now is the time for those not away on international duty to relax and reset.

That said, time is already ticking towards the start of pre-season and players will therefore be eager to ensure they remain in tip-top shape so they can hit the ground running.

Despite wins over Nottingham Forest and Hearts, Daniel Farke will be eager for a much better pre-season this time around where he was only able to work with a couple of new signings.

The side that ended the transfer window was completely different to the one that Farke first inherited but hopefully Leeds can be much quicker this time around.

Mateo Joseph shows off early off-season work

Leeds already have the foundations of a strong squad for next season despite the fact they are expecting to lose some key players this summer.

There are also a handful of youngsters who will be hoping for a real opportunity in the first team and there is no better time than pre-season to show what you can do.

Archie Gray is clear evidence of that this time 12 months ago after impressing Farke enough in pre-season to be handed a start on the opening day, and he then didn’t look back.

And it would appear Mateo Joseph is looking to build some early momentum ahead of returning to Leeds after posting a selection of photos on Instagram of him already hard at work.

Joseph was very much in and around the first team last season but aside from a couple of starts in the FA Cup, Farke only opted to use him from the bench in the league.

He showed more than enough in those various cameos to prove he is more than good enough to play even more, while also scoring an impressive two goals in an ‘excellent‘ individual display at Chelsea.

Connor Roberts and Glen Kamara are among the Leeds teammates to have reacted Joseph showing he is hard at work, even with the future of the former still uncertain.

Joseph could actually miss start of Leeds’ season

Unfortunately for Leeds, there is a large chance of Joseph missing some of pre-season and the start of the campaign.

According to the Mail Online, Joseph has been cleared to play in this summer’s Olympics for Spain having recently changed his allegiance from England.

The tournament is set to get underway on July 4 and finish on August 9, which is the day the Championship season begins.

If Spain were to progress deep into the competition, which wouldn’t be a surprise, Leeds could be without him for the first game at least.
