National media seriously unimpressed by £27m Tottenham player who started for his country last night

Tottenham Hotspur have a number of international players away with their countries at the moment and one midfielder failed to impress last night.

Spurs, like a lot of top Premier League clubs, have players away for the Euros and also in South America, as teams prepare for the Copa America.

Speaking of those South American players, Tottenham are probably one of the most represented clubs.

The likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero and Richarlison have all been big players for their nations over the last few seasons.

And one of those players, midfielder Lo Celso, was in action last night as Argentina took on Guatemala.

Argentina’s media deliver verdict on Giovani Lo Celso

The £27m signing actually started for the Argentinian’s last night despite not being involved much for Tottenham recently.

However, those lack of starts appeared to cost him a touch, as his performance was shot down by local media outlet, TYC Sports.

Giving Lo Celso a team low of six out of ten, they wrote:

“One of the few who repeated the start. More stationed on the left than against Ecuador, he participated less in the set-up.”

Lo Celso is expected to move on from Spurs this summer.

Lo Celso needs a move away from Tottenham

It’s obvious the Argentinian’s still like the look of Giovani Lo Celso and he continues to be selected.

However, his lack of minutes with Spurs is clearly costing him and he failed to deliver a decent performance here for his country.

Despite the game ending 4-1 to Argentina, it’s clear that Lo Celso had little impact on the game.

A summer switch, then, has to be on the agenda for him as he looks to kickstart his career once more.
