Deputy Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese said the conduct of legislative activities has been all about the promotion of unity and inclusivity among lawmakers.

He said the House could not have attained the kind of lofty achievement it did without the exceptional leadership quality of the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas.

Speaking on the first anniversary of the House in a chat with journalists on Saturday in Abuja, the lawmaker said, visionary leadership has always been the needed tool to actuate unity and inclusivity, particularly in the parliament where they are lawmakers from diverse backgrounds and cultures which was what helped the lower chamber in the last one year.

“The House has become a beacon of hope for Nigerians and a symbol of what can be achieved through collective effort and dedication”.

“In leadership, you engage with stakeholders, including civil society organizations, the private sector, and the executive arm of government.

“What we are witnessing in the 10th House of Representatives is a testament to the power of collaborative leadership and we are proud to be part of his team,” Agbese said.

He revealed that the House has passed several notable bills, including the Electricity Act (Amendment) Bill, the Economic Diversification Bill, the National Health Insurance Act, and the Education Reform Bill.

He said, ”In the first six months, 120 bills passed the second reading stage, arguing that the bills were passed in the interest of the nation and a response to the immediate challenges confronting the nation.

“All these bills are intended to provide immediate relief and long-term solutions to the challenges that have plagued our society.
