  • Season 5, Part A ended in January 2023, and since then fans have learned that Kevin Costner‘s character, John Dutton, won’t be returning.

Here are some more stats from this list of Taylor Sheridan’s No. 1 show: four scenes feature fights and four feature Beth Dutton (although they’re not the same same four scenes).

There are four scenes from Season 2, which is more than any other season (three from Season 4, two from Season 1 and just one from Season 5).

To make this list, a scene needed to not only be visually arresting and emotional, it needed to matter to the overall arc of the character or the show. For that reason (and maybe one or two more), Beth Dutton’s fight scene with Summer Higgins was left out. So too was the scene from Season 1 in the coroner’s laboratory.

Sure, that’s the first time we see Rip, but it’s not essential to understanding his character or the show.
