Marrero (La.) Archbishop Shaw three-star running back Jasper Parker has committed to the Michigan Wolverines, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Parker chose the Wolverines over Miami, Alabama, North Carolina and Oklahoma State while on his official visit to Ann Arbor.
New Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford took a trip down to Louisiana to see Parker in May.
“It was great,” Parker told On3 last month. “He emphasized the need for me to go to Michigan. He just reiterated a lot of things and showed why they are a powerful option in this recruiting process. We talked schemes, plans for enrolling and just grew closer.”
Parker and Alford had only been in communication for a couple of months at the time, but had begun to build a strong relationship.
“He’s way more than a coach,” Parker said. “He’s a mentor. He’s a role model. The way he talks to his family and everybody with respect stands out. It shows you how good of a person. He’s wise and has a lot of years of experience.”
Parker is the nation’s No. 457 overall prospect, No. 37 running back and No. 15 recruit from Louisiana in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Back-to-back days with Michigan commitments
Parker’s commitment comes a day after Michigan landed Montgomery Village (Md.) Gonzaga four-star safety Kainoa Winston. Michigan had Winston in Ann Arbor for his official visit on the weekend of May 31.
“The visit was good. I got to hang around the players and coaches more, just getting to bond and build relationships with them. My biggest takeaway from the visit was how genuine the people at Michigan are and the workhorse culture that has been established there,” Winston told On3 following his OV.
“I like how they move around their DBs in the backend and with my versatility I think I would thrive in the defensive personnel they play with,” he added.
