Cascarino said about Alexander-Arnold on talkSPORT (7:25 am, June 15, 2024): “I think the most intriguing one would be Trent.
“If he gets put in that midfield position and he keeps his place in the tournament, that means it has worked. It has worked for him and England.
“I think he is the most interesting one because Trent is game-changer as well with his passing ability, his ability on free kicks.
“He is a dream for a forward. Trent’s right foot, if he gets on it, he can pick people out.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold to start for England vs Serbia
Alexander-Arnold is one of the best players in the world, and it is not a surprise to see England head coach Southgate deciding to include him in the starting lineup against Serbia.
With Manchester City star Kyle Walker playing at right-back, Alexander-Arnold is likely to be deployed in midfield alongside Arsenal ace Declan Rice, who is rated highly by Jack Wilshere.
Alexander-Arnold has played in midfield for Liverpool on occasions, and it will be interesting to see how he does in that role alongside Rice.
