The work on the joint declaration at the peace summit has been completed. Countries will be able to join the declaration even after the conclusion of the first summit, according to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
"The work on the text is now complete, and at the end of the summit, the presidents will announce the approval of the resolution. It will remain open for other countries to join even after the summit concludes," stated the Foreign Minister.
Kuleba noted that several countries, whose representatives were not present at the summit, are conducting internal reviews of the joint communiqué and plan to join it.
"The text is balanced, and all our key positions, which Ukraine insisted on, are included," the minister added.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that no alternative "peace plans" were discussed at the summit. He also acknowledged that the time will come when it will be necessary to talk with Russia, but this cannot be done "in the language of ultimatums."
Peace summit in Switzerland
Today, June 16, marks the second day of Ukraine's peace summit in Switzerland. Representatives from about 100 countries and international organizations are present.
The goal of the summit is to discuss and reach a consensus on three issues of Ukraine's peace formula: nuclear and food security, as well as the release of prisoners, including children.
Media reports had suggested that summit participants failed to reach an agreement on a joint declaration. However, Ukrainian representatives refuted this information. Reuters revealed the draft of the final declaration of the peace summit.
