"He's got everything in his locker"... Man Utd have the ideal Greenwood solution with man Fabregas says is 'back to his best' - opinion

Mason Greenwood is set to leave Manchester United for good this summer and after a fine campaign with Getafe in La Liga, United won’t be letting him go without getting something worthwhile in return.

The Manchester United academy graduate was loaned out to Spain in the hopes of finding form, and game time, again after he was exiled from the United squad becauseof the circumstances around his arrest and the subsequent dropping of charges against him.

At his new club, he thrived. He played 33 matches, netting eight times and providing six assists. It’s not bad going for a forward who had no minutes on the pitch since January 2022.

Alas, the situation surrounding Greenwood means that Manchester United simply have to let him go. There are multiple teams interested, including Juventus. Could an ideal solution be on the cards?

Juventus want Mason Greenwood

It appears, alongside Jadon Sancho, Juventus want to secure Greenwood’s signature in the summer transfer window.

The Turin-based side are looking for world-class players to establish their dominance in Italy again, and Greenwood is one of the best young talents available in world football

However, they know he won’t come cheap. It is said that Manchester United do not want to let Greenwood go for anything less than £50m this summer. Funds that Juve may not have just for one player.

This is why a swap deal could be on the cards. Juve have already flirted with the idea of swap deals with a Premier League club. They’ve offered Aston Villa Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior for Douglas Luiz.

Juve do have some players that should attract the interest of the Red Devils. Gleison Bremer is one heavily linked, but we think Manchester United should turn their attention to someone who’s already lighting up Euro 2024 – Federico Chiesa. He has been linked before.

Manchester United should use Greenwood to acquire Federico Chiesa

Chiesa would be simply electric at Old Trafford, and solve, multiple problems at United. The right-wing slot has been the elusive role that has just never been filled. Chiesa could do just that.

He is lightning-quick, extremely skilful and downright dangerous in the final third. Everything a Manchester United winger should be.

Despite a few somewhat mediocre seasons in Italy, he showed his class at Euro 2024 against Albania, causing nightmares for their defenders. Cesc Fabregas is inclined to agree.

Speaking on the BBC following the Italy vs Albania clash, Fabregas claimed Chiesa was ‘back to his best’. He said: “Yeah he had a big injury that made him lose a little bit over the years, but he’s back to his best.

Cesc continued: “He’s got that pace back. In modern football nowadays, players like this are so important. Either they come to you man-to-man or they defend deep. They want the ball, they want to make things happen. one against one, they create spaces for their teammates.

“He’s got everything in his locker, and I think he’ll be an important player here [Euro 2024] once again.”

Using Greenwood, or Sancho, as leverage to try and lure Chiesa would be extremely wise business from the Red Devils. The Italian goes straight into the starting XI.

If Juventus are serious about acquiring either of our English stars, but in particular Greenwood, have them put one of their star men on the line in the process.
