On June 16, Ukraine and Palau established diplomatic relations. The parties signed a communiqué, reports the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, on X.

"Today, Ukraine and Palau established diplomatic relations. In the presence of our leaders, Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Surangel Whipps, Jr., we signed the corresponding communiqué," he disclosed.

According to the Foreign Minister, Ukraine has interests across the globe and respects every country that shares the same values of respect for the UN Charter and international law.

"There are several global issues where our cooperation can benefit both of our countries, including environmental security, which is one of the points of the Peace Formula. I am confident that by establishing diplomatic relations, Ukraine and Palau will strengthen cooperation in jointly addressing these challenges," Kuleba added.

In April 2024, Ukraine's new embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo officially started operating. The establishment of the embassy was carried out under the direction of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
