The Maize and Blue have three first-team honorees — a trio of juniors in tight end Colston Loveland, cornerback Will Johnson and defensive tackle Mason Graham — which is tied with USC for the third most, trailing Ohio State (6) and Iowa (4). All three athletes were also named preseason first-team All-America by Lindy’s.

Michigan also has three second-teamers (senior running back Donovan Edwards, graduate left guard Josh Priebe and junior defensive tackle Kenneth Grant. In terms of first- and second-team selections, Ohio State leads the way with 10, while Michigan and Oregon are tied second with six.

The Wolverines didn’t have any representatives on the third team. There were three teams whose only preseason All-Big Ten players appeared on the third team: Rutgers, UCLA and Northwestern, all with two.

Here’s a look at each Big Ten team and how they fared with Lindy’s preseason season all-conference teams:

Last season, Michigan had 17 players that earned first-, second- or third-team All-Big Ten honors by at least one of the coaches or the media, including eight that were named to the first team. The additions of Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington from the Pac-12, though, will make putting up such a large number much more difficult going forward.
