Report: Premier League club to listen to loan offers for 'unbelievable' talent with Leeds at front of the queue

Leeds United are interested in landing a Premier League defender on loan this summer and his club are now ready to listen to loan offers in the coming weeks and months.

The Whites are going to need to bring in some defensive reinforcements this summer. Joe Rodon has returned to Tottenham where he has had his contract extended, amid interest from Southampton.

Meanwhile, Connor Roberts has gone back to parent club Burnley and while Leeds remain interested in doing a deal, it is unclear if Burnley are willing to sell the Wales star but it leaves Leeds short for now.

The Whites need a right-back with Jamie Shackleton’s contract under discussion, but he remains due to leave on June 30. The same goes for Liam Cooper, while Archie Gray should move into central midfield.

So, Daniel Farke needs a right-sided defender at Leeds and perhaps even two. A defender that can play as a right-back or a centre-back would surely be ideal and a 20-year-old star is being linked with Leeds.

Chelsea to listen to offers for Leeds target in next few weeks

Alfie Gilchrist emerged as a breakthrough talent under Mauricio Pochettino last season, playing 17 times in all competitions for Chelsea so far. But it seems Enzo Maresca is unwilling to let him build on that.

Football London state that Chelsea are willing to listen to loan offers for Gilchrist amid Championship interest, and the report says names only one club that are interested in the form of Farke’s Leeds.

Links with Leeds are nothing new, with initial reports stating Leeds’ interest originating earlier this month. It certainly makes sense in the kind of player Leeds need to sign over the course of the next few weeks.

What John Terry has said about Chelsea talent Alfie Gilchrist

Gilchrist’s form has not gone unnoticed among those of a Chelsea persuasion and there is a genuine hope among those at Stamford Bridge that he can become a Blues player for years to come.

But given the competition at Chelsea, he needs to get out and get regular game time and a move to Elland Road will give him that. Chelsea legend Terry is a big fan, citing his attitude as a big plus.

“Alfie Gilchrist, he’s a really good player. He’s got an unbelievable attitude. He performs so well on a daily basis, does everything right. I think he’s got a good chance,” Terry recently said, as per Football London.
