Which drivers have previously taken part in Olympic celebrations?

Although motorsport is not traditionally part of the Olympic sports roster, there has been some presence in past years.

Ferrari ran a car during the opening ceremony of the 2006 Torino Winter Olympic Games in a demonstration run, designed to showcase technology endeavours in F1.

Former F1 driver Alex Zinardi also famously won four gold medals in hand cycling in the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics. He remains the only former driver to have won both gold and silver medals at an Olympic Games.

Others include Dutchman Ben Pon, who competed in clay pigeon shooting at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, while Prince Bira sailed for Thiland in the Summer Olympics on four occasions.

One of the few female drivers to compete in F1, Divina Galica, also represented Great Britain four times in skiing for the Winter Olympics.
